Product Description
Type Fountain pen with piston filling system
Product Name Lamy 2000
Manufacturer and Year Lamy, Germany -- Lamy introduced this pen in 1966 and has made minimal changes to the pen over the years. It's hard to date them though because the older features still appear in newer pens on occasion. The Lamy stamp is on the side of the clip on this pen. The section has viewing windows.
Length 5-1/2"
Filling System Piston filling system. We've tested it and it's working well.
Color Black Makrolon (polycarbonate plastic reinforced with fiberglass). It has a stainless steel clip and a brushed finish that gives the pen a satin look.
Nib EXTRA-FINE 14k gold nib. We're not quite sure what the original nib size was, but it's been modified to be a Japanese extra-fine (0.2mm) by Mike Masuyama and is noticeably finer than a stock Lamy 2000 extra fine. The tip that touches the paper is really tiny! You can see some of the masking was removed during the nib grinding process.
Condition Near mint condition in box, though it has been inked. This solid, simple, but striking pen looks really good. No cracks, chips, dents, dings, or shiny marks. The imprint is clear.
