Product Description
Type Fountain pen with piston filling system
Product Name Lamy 2000
Manufacturer and Year Lamy, Germany -- Lamy introduced this pen in 1966 and has made minimal changes to the pen over the years. It's hard to date them though because the older features still appear in newer pens on occasion. The Lamy stamp is on the side of the clip on this pen. The section has ink viewing windows.
Length 5-1/2"
Filling System Piston filling system. We've tested it and it's working well. Guaranteed for a year from the date of purchase.
Color Black Makrolon (polycarbonate plastic reinforced with fiberglass). It has a stainless steel clip and a matte finish. The section is silver and there are oblong viewing windows.
Nib 14k gold which has been plated with platinum. We don't know the original width of the nib, or who did the nib work, but this is definitely a needlepoint nib grind. Very fine line, and you'll only want to use light pressure when writing with this pen. Please see writing sample.
Condition Excellent condition with no cracks, chips, dents, or dings. This is a full size pen that has good weight and that has an industrial appearance. The cap and barrel have light scratching and some light shiny marks. The section looks a bit darker in places where a writer would probably grip the pen (in hand, the section is fairly bright and shiny). It must be said that this material makes it very difficult to see scratches, but under magnification tiny little marks show up. The clip has moderate microscratching and one little ding near the top. The imprint is clear.
