Filling System Fountain pen is a lever filler. We've restored it with a new sac and it's working well.
Color Green Pearl with gold plated trim. Really pretty shades of sage green, and the material exhibits a very nice changeable luster with a 3D effect, as you look at the pieces from different angles.
Nib FLEXIBLE BROAD 14k gold Warranted #5 nib is smooth with nice tipping. It does have a bit of a right oblique shape to the tip, and may feel a tiny bit scratchy until you twist the pen a bit to the right. It gives you a nice broad line and flexes easily. Check out our writing sample - in some places we measured the line width at 2mm!
Condition Very Nice condition. Good color, though the barrel is a bit yellower than the cap. The nib is soft and smooth, and gives nice line variation with minimal pressure. The barrel has light scratching, with some small tooth marks at the end of the barrel. The lever bar has plating wear. The cap has a few areas of concern: There is a crack in the cap lip about 3/8" long, which seems to be held in check by the cap bands. There is a distinct crack around the cap about 1" down from the top. It almost completely encircles the cap, but the cap hasn't fallen part because the inner cap liner seems to be holding it together. You definitely do not want to drop this pen or put pressure on the cap! We have included some close up shots of the crack in the photos.
