Product Description
Type Modern fountain pen
Product Name Louis Cartier Stripe
Manufacturer and Year Cartier, France -- this is a recent but not current model.
Length 5-5/8"
Filling System The pen takes standard international refills and converters. It is fitted with a Cartier converter.
Nib Medium Cursive Italic 18k nib with a right foot oblique. It writes with good line variation and is very smooth. (Right oblique nibs are said to suit left handed writers, but the righties here at PSP didn't have difficulty writing with it.) See the writing sample below.
Color Black cap and barrel with metal plated trim and section. We're going with palladium plating based off of the lack of hallmarks. Cartier started using palladium in the late 1980s and France does not require palladium hallmarks. Though the black composite pens did feature a two tone nib, we don't believe the section is the one which originally came with this pen due to the gold plated collar. There is a black cabochon at the end of the barrel. The pen has a striped pattern.
Condition Near Mint condition. There are some polishing marks on the metal but not on the composite. The hallmarks and imprints are clear. No chips, dents, cracks, or scratches. The pen looks good and hasn't been overly used.
