Product Description
Type Vintage eye dropper fountain pen.
Product Name 3501 (the model number is visible on the end of the barrel).
Manufacturer and Year Mabie Todd & Co. New York -- circa 1920s or earlier
Length 5-7/16".
Filling System Eye dropper. These pens originally had a long tail on the feed and a twisted wire that helped with ink flow. We have added a short wire which may or may not serve the same purpose .... the pen did write well for us during testing.
Color Black hard rubber with a clip that we think is nickel.
Nib Italic cut soft 14k nib with over-feed and under-feed. It's hard to see the nib imprint due to the overlay, but it seems to say Mabie Todd. See our writing sample below.
Condition Excellent condition except for some tool marks on the section. There is enough handwear to dull the finish somewhat, but the imprint is quite good. The clip is turning dark and has a tiny bit of rust that can be seen on the picture below. No cracks or personalization. It's fully restored and working well.
