Product Description
Type ring top fountain pen
Product Name Swan Pen, as imprinted on the end of the barrel. (The US Swan pens do not have the excess of Swan imprints that the English variants do.)
Manufacturer and Year Mabie Todd & Co. New York -- 1920s or 30s, the lack of gold imprint implies that it is early.
Length 3-9/16"
Filling System Eyedropper filler. We will send instructions for usage as well as an eyedropper kit.
Color Gold filled with a pattern of grouped lines. Black hard rubber section.
Nib FINE FLEXIBLE Mabie Todd & Co NY #2 nib. It is gold and flexes fairly easily. We didn't push the nib too much but you will get moderate line variation from fine to broad. Please see writing sample below.
Condition Excellent + condition. The barrel imprint is slightly worn but the patterning is very crisp and unworn. The plain panels between the grouped lines have light scratching and polishing marks. The cap lip has some plating wear. We also see some brassing around the edge of the end of the barrel. There is a line scratched around the edge of the cap top as well. No cracks, chips, dents, or personalization. Fully restored and working well.
