Product Description
Type Lever fill fountain pen
Product Name Autoflow
Manufacturer and Year Mentmore, England -- 1940s
Length 4-15/16"
Filling System Lever filler system. We have tested the system and it's working very well.
Color Marbled burgundy with black. It has gold plated trim including a narrow cap band and a black cap piece. The cap is thin enough to allow light and shadows through it.
Nib MEDIUM 14k nib. It is smooth and springy, semi-flex with minor variation.
Condition Very nice condition. The pen has handwear and light horizontal scratching from the cap. There is a scratch on the cap lip - it strongly resembles a crack, but when you look at the edge of the cap it does not go through. There is a crack in the barrel, just below the barrel threads, so if you grip the pen near the barrel threads this is probably not a good pen for you because you'll be applying bending pressure to the cracked area (gripping the section should not be a problem). We have detailed pictures of both of these areas in the photos. There is some light scratching on the cap. The barrel imprint is somewhat smoothed down, but still legible. The trim has brassing and plating wear. The pen is fully restored and working well.
