Product Description
Type Cartridge/converter filling fountain pen
Product Name Model 144
Manufacturer and Year Montblanc, Germany -- 2000s, based off of the pix imprint on the cap band. The pix on the cap band is thought to be introduced circa 2006.
Length 5-1/2".
Filling System Takes international cartridges and threaded converters. A Montblanc threaded piston converter is installed.
Color Black with gold plated trim.
Nib FINE Montblanc 14k nib marked 4810. It's mostly firm and smooth with nice tipping material. It has a 2 on the feed. Montblanc nibs seems to run narrow so we're calling this nib a fine but it's pretty close to an extra-fine.
Condition Excellent + condition. The photographs show black reflections in the trim that looks like plating wear but isn't. The band near the end of the barrel is brassed and the gold plating looks a bit bumpy on the nib collar. Otherwise, the trim looks great and is almost entirely intact. The imprints are clear and easily read. The black has some handwear including a few microscratches. No cracks, chips, or dents. It's working well.
