Product Description
Type Cartridge/converter filling fountain pen, working well, in box.
Product Name Model 144
Manufacturer and Year Montblanc, Germany -- circa 1989. (In 1989 they started putting serial numbers on the pens, and this does not have a serial number. In 1989 they switched from saying "W GERMANY" and started saying "GERMANY," and this one just says Germany.) This pen came to us in a bunch of pens from Japan, and there is some Japanese writing on the user booklet, so this pen was probably sold in the Japanese market originally.
Length 5-5/16".
Filling System Cartridge/converter filler. A working converter is installed.
Color Black with gold plated trim.
Nib EXTRA FINE Montblanc 14k gold nib marked 4810. It's firm and smooth with nice tipping material. There's a slight upturn to it at the tip.
Condition Near mint condition. No cracks, chips, dings or dents, personalization, or plating wear. There are a few tiny faint marks and micro-scratches on the cap and barrel from storage. No traces of ink in the feed or nib suggesting that it has never been inked or used. The colors you see on the underside of the nib is the gold with its original patina, unpolished. The face of the nib was multiicolored too before we polished it. Working very well in its original box.
