Product Description
Type Limited Edition Fountain Pen
Product Name Montblanc Writers Edition Schiller. See the Montblanc page on this pen model. #05093/18000 (14000 were sold individually and 4000 were sold in sets).
Manufacturer and Year Montblanc, Germany -- 2000.
Length 5-3/8".
Filling System Piston filler. Recently serviced by Montblanc where the barrel was replaced.
Color Black barrel with amber cap. The trim is striped and gold plated. The clip ring has cut outs and the 3/16" band beneath the piston knob is ribbed. Schiller's signature is to the right of the clip.
Nib Medium 18k Nib. It's very smooth and writes like a medium-fine. We generally find Montblanc nibs to run narrow so we consider this a medium. The nib is slightly springy and is decorated with a crossbow as a reference to William Tell from Schiller's play of the same name.
Condition Superior condition. The pen has some handwear and clear imprints. The amber in the cap has small marks. It seems like the amber is a softer material than the resin used in the rest of the pen. It looks great, but you do see signs of usage. The pen ships in a Montblanc Writers Edition Schiller box, but no booklet or outer cardboard sleeve..
