Product Description
Type Lever filling fountain pen with a great flexible nib.
Product Name Unknown.
Manufacturer and Year Morrison Fountain Pen Company, New York. Morrison was one of the third tier pen makers, but this piece is from one of the nicer lines we've seen, so we suspect this was top of the line – circa 1920s or '30s.
Length Just barely over 5-1/8".
Filling System Lever filler, we have fully restored it with a new sac and it's working well.
Color Gold overlay is in a wavey pattern over the black hard rubber.
Nib FLEXIBLE MEDIUM-FINE 14k Morison NY nib. It's quite smooth with some wear to the tipping. Fully flexible, with very easy line variation from a fine-medium line to a double broad. Truly a gorgeous nib. See writing sample below.
Condition Excellent condition. There are a few small lines of light brassing on the cap and barrel, including on the edges of the overlay and just a tiny bit of brassing on the ball of the clip. There's also a tiny indent in the smooth section of the barrel's overlay, some light scratching on the top of the cap, and a few small marks on the section. There's some very light discoloration on the hard rubber. No cracks or chips, no real dents. It's fully restored and working well with a very attractive nib.
