Product Description
Type Lever fill fountain pen and mechanical pencil set with a great flexible nib
Product Name Unknown
Manufacturer and Year Morrison Fountain Pen Company, New York (1930s). Morrison was one of the third tier pen makers, but these pieces are from one of the necer lines we've seen, so we suspect this was top of the line.
Length Pen is 5-1/8", pencil is 5".
Filling System The pen is a lever filler, which we have fully restored with a new sac. The pencil takes 1.1mm ("thick") leads, which it extends via the traditional twist mechanism. Both pieces are working perfectly.
Color Gold filigree is in a sort of floral design over black hard rubber.
Nib FLEXIBLE FINE Warranted #2 nib. See writing sample. Not full flex, but it flexes with a little pressure and lays down a nice line that goes from fine to at least broad.
Condition The fountain pen is in really excellent condition. The pen is almost perfect, with just tiny dots of brassing in the gold filled filigree pattern (see photos) and around the top edge of the cap. Hardly a scratch on it, no chips, cracks, or tooth marks.
The pencil is actually quite nice and works well, except fpor a severly dented cone. (It's not adding much to the price, so please don't ask to buy the fountain pen without the pencil.). The two look great together, and the fountain pen is really nice. Fully restored and working perfectly.
