Product Description
Type The first modern fountain pen produced by Cartier.
Product Name Must de Cartier, Vendome. Identified as part of the Trinity line by the three metal rings at the top of the cap.
Manufacturer and Year Cartier, France -- 1979. Serial number 87935 is engraved on the end of the barrel.
Length 5-7/16"
Filling System Cartier "flat" oval cartridges ONLY. The pen has a small latch at the end of the barrel that you must lift to release the inner tray that holds the cartridge. When a cartridge is installed in the tray, and the barrel latched, the cartridge is punctured and the ink can flow to the nib.
The cartridges are hard to find and come with a high price tag when you do find them. We will include 2 of these hard to find cartridges which are sealed and over half filled. When you use up the ink in these, they can be refilled with a syringe.
Color Brushed gold surface with gold plated trim and the Cartier "trinity" rings on the cap.
Nib MEDIUM 18k gold nib, very soft and smooth.
Condition Excellent + condition in box. There is some microscratching on the gold rings and surface of the clip. There are some tiny dots of plating wear on the front of the barrel nearest the nib, where you would hold the pen. There are also some marks on the barrel itself. The clip is opened by pressing on the top of the cap, and that function is working very well. The latch at the end of the barrel works well. Ships in Cartier box with paperwork and 2 cartridges.
