Product Description
Type Fountain pen
Product Name Unknown
Manufacturer and Year National Pen Company, Chicago -- 1920-30s. The pen is not marked, but it does have a clip with the flower and vine design you see on other National pen lines such as Lincoln. National Pen created good quality pens for their own pen lines, and also produced pens for various retail chains.
Length 5-7/16"
Filling System Lever filler (restored with new sac.)
Color Dark red with black end pieces and a 1/8" cap band. The trim is gold filled. The clip is imprinted with a flower on a vine.
Nib Fine steel nib. It was originally gold plated, but most of it is gone now. It has a large sweet spot but when used at a different angle, it is quite scratchy on the upstrokes.
Condition Excellent condition. There are faint bands of scratches on the cap lip, end of barrel, and top of cap. The cap band also has very skinny dents on it and the plating is thin. The cap band is not centered in the area that holds it. The clip looks really great and the pen has a nice even color. The pen is fully restored and working well.
