Product Description
Type Unusual fiber-tipped pen.
Product Name Touche - it's essentially a Parker 45 body, but with a soft plastic fiber tip rather than a metal nib.
Manufacturer and Year Parker, USA -- Circa 1966-70. (the Touche was introduced in 1966, and the Touche II in 1971. The flyer in the box has a print date of 1966, so this is likely a fairly early model).
Length 5-3/8"
Filling System Parker ink cartridges. There are 4 cartridges in the box, and likely any modern Parker cartridge or converter will also work.
Color Black body with flighter (brushed steel) cap, agold arrow clip and dimpled tassie.
Tip This has a "soft" fiber tip, likely made of compressed synthetic fiber. It should put down a line very similar to a Papermate Flair. There is a tip unit installed in the pen and also an additional tip unit in the box. As with many fiber tip style pens, it will be easy to clog the tip with ink if it is not cleaned out regularly, so Parker anticipated this problem by including an extra tip.
Condition Excellent condition, in box, with paperwork. There is some light handwear on the barrel and section. The installed fiber tip doesn't show any ink residue, so we think it may not have been used. Some of the original chalk mark remains on the barrel, though quite a bit of it has been worn away. There is a bit of roughness on the cap lip, but the rest of the cap looks almost untouched, so we suspect that this is a manufacturing defect. Ships in original plastic box with 4 ink cartridges (the ink is probably dried up, but could be reconstituted with distilled water or simply rinsed and refilled with the ink of your choice), a second tip unit, and the original booklet is under the platform. The cap imprints are clear.
