Product Name Parker 51 Aerometric Short Taper Version. It fits in the bases with the "Magnetix" holders.
Manufacturer and Year Parker, USA -- 1948 (The date code is a clear 8 with no dots).
Length The pen is 6" and the base measures 3.5" by 5.5" by 0.75."
Filling System Aerometric filling system. Tested and working well.
Color The pen is black with a chrome clutch band to hold the pen in the base. The base is an opaque yellow green with a cracked pattern. It has a gold plated rectangle that's lengthwise but not widthwise centered to hold the actual ball bottomed pen holder. The ball moves to adjust the angle the pen is positioned.
Nib Medium-fine gold nib with somewhat worn tipping material, but it still has a good shape.
Condition Excellent condition. The pen cleaned up well with a clear imprint and some handwear on the pen. No scratches or chips. There is some chrome plating wear on the clutch band. The base has light scratching on the surface and some plating wear on the rectangle. The rectangle has scratches as well. The filling system has some flaking areas on the sac cover, which does not affect performance.
