Type A 1950's fountain pen desk set with elephant figurines.
Product Name Parker 51 aerometric with five pieces:
1) an 8" letter opener with a 2-3/4" bevilled marble handle of dark gray with copper veins and a 5-1/4" silver blade;
2) one 4" x 3" pedestal and 4 15/16" high bookend of the same marble material;
3) one 4" x 4" octagonal ashtray with two cigarette receptacles (bottom has original felt) of the same marble material;
4) 5" diameter supply holder (could hold paper clips, stamps, rubber bands, etc.), with a 3-1/2" standing elephant at the back of the pedestal made of the same marbled material;
5) dark gray marble base with copper and pearl veins. Desk set is 11-1/4 x 7-1/4" at base. It displays a mother (approx 4" with tusk) and a baby elephant (3-1/2 "). It has a 10-1/2 bevilled pen/pencil holder at front of base, and two gold plates that hold the pens ("Magnetix" system with the pen holders help magnetically in place).

Filling System The fountain pens include an aerometric squeeze filler.
Color Dark gray marble with copper and pearl veins, black pens.
Nib One pen is MEDIUM-FINE and one is closer to FINE. 14k nib.
Condition The fountain pens are in excellent condition with very clear sacs . The base of the pen set has some chipping around the borrom edge. The elephants are painted black enamel over pot metal (?) and show some slight wear to the paint. The letter opener has slight scratches around the top and borrom of the handle. The bookend has a few chips around the base and stand back. The ash tray has some chipping and wear along the top and borrom edges. The office supply holder has some chipping around the edges but is in otherwise excellent condition.
