Product Name Parker 51 Aerometric Flighter, this is the earlier version with a gold plated band. They made this version from 1950 to 1960.
Manufacturer and Year Parker, made in USA -- The fountain pen does not have a date code. The mechanical pencil has a date code of 1951 (The date code is a 51 with two dots).

Filling System The fountain pen has an Aerometric squeeze filling system. It has been tested and is working well. The mechanical pencil takes 0.9mm leads.
Color Brushed steel with "lustraloy" finish and 1-1/2" long arrow clips. For the fountain pen, the section is black. Gold plated trim. The trim includes a raised narrow cap band. The caps have a pearlescent cap jewel. The mechanical pencil has a unique cone at the end of the barrel that has concentric gold circles.
Nib Medium gold nib. The pen writes smoothly and the tipping looks nice.
Condition Near mint condition for this lovely fountain pen and mechanical pencil set that come in their original box. No cracks, chips, dents or dings. The fountain pen: has beautiful luster and only some faint marks under the area where the cap fits. The sac is unstained. The mechanical pencil: All around perfect and lovely. The imprints are clear. The set comes in its original Parker 51 box.
