Product Description
Type Fountain pen and mechanical pencil set
Product Name Parker 51 Aerometric
Manufacturer and Year Parker USA - 1949 (the code indicating manufacturing date is 9 on the pen and 9 on the pencil, so they were probably sold in 1949).
Length Full size. Pen is 5-3/8" pencil is 5-1/14".
Filling System The pen is an Aerometric squeeze filling system. The pencil takes 0.9mm leads, which it extends via the cap actuated system, which is gravity fed (you press the cap down like on modern mechanical pencils, only there is no real pushing mechanism, so the pencil has to be pointed downward for lead to extend). We'll include a small packet of leads.
Color Navy grey (blue-ish grey) colored bodies with 1/10 12k gold filled caps in a pattern of converging lines with the arrow clip. Pearlescent cap jewels. The pencil has a chrome plated tip.
Nib FINE nib is gold and a little on the smaller side of fine. It looks like it is in excellent condition with a lot of tipping material, and feels smooth.
Condition Near mint condition. No dents dings or scracthes, only the lightest of handwear. There's a little wear on the ridges of the clip. The sac is almost completely clear, so it's possible the pen has never been used. We found a light trace of ink on the nib, so it probably has been dipped.
