Filling System Aerometric (squeeze filler ... press 6 times). It's marked Parker 51 on the filler. The mechanical pencil takes 0.9mm leads, which advance by pressing the top half of the pencil. A packet of leads will be included.
Color The bodies and caps are 1/10 14k gold filled. There is a pattern of three parallel lines separated by a blank space. There is a steel clutch ring. Both have pearlescent jewels on the top of the caps. Arrow clips. Both have initials engraved on the barrels, "AES".
Nib FINE 14k gold nib.
Condition Excellent + condition, in box, with no cracks, chips, dents, or dings. This is a shiny, shimmery gold set that is elegant and sophisticated in appearance. The fountain pen has light signs of usage. There is light scratching on the smooth portions of the barrel and cap. There is one small pin-sized mark on the barrel, just to the left of the "Made in USA" imprint. The end of the barrel has some brassing. The clip has some brassing and light plating wear on the sides. The pearlized jewel looks great. The mechanical pencil has mainly light wear with light scratching. The pearlized jewel looks great. The hard leather covered box is in good condition although there is a patch of dried stuff (maybe glue?) on the left side of the top, around what appears to be a small scratch. All imprints on both pieces are clear.
