Type Vintage Fountain Pen and Pencil Set with Box
Product Name Parker 51 Cartridge/Converter version
Manufacturer and Year Parker, USA -- this version of the pen was made for a short time only, 1961 to 1963.
Length full size pen is 5-3/8", and pencil is 5-3/16"
Filling System The fountain pen utilizes converter (included) or Parker cartridges (not included). The pencil takes 0.9mm leads and uses the modern push and click mechanism.
Color The color is a deep brown red (burgundy). Fountain pen cap and pencil marked 1/10 12K GOLD FILLED. The caps have arrow clips and a pattern of converging lines. Pearlescent cap jewels.
Nib The gold nib is a fine and writes very nicely with great tipping material.
Condition This fountain pen set is in excellent condition. No dents or dings on the caps. The pen's cap is in excellent condition with no brassing and a lovely pearlescent jewel, just one small area of plating loss on the clip. Some micro scratches. The mechanical pencil is in very nice condition, not quite as good as the fountain pen due to some nicks and scratches on the clip. The imprint on the barrel and cap are much clearer on the pencil and the rings on the pencil section are in excellent condition. Overall it is a handsome set. It comes with a Parker 51 pen box, which has a few stains on the outside, and is probably not correct for this late model.
