Product Description
Type Experimental/prototype desk pen
Product Name Parker 51 "Red Band" -- see the Shepherd Parker 51 book for more info. This is the later version with the aluminum filling system components.
Manufacturer and Year Parker - June 1946 to the end of 1947
Length 6-1/8"
Filling System This is the unique aspect of the pen. Parker experimented with a button fill mechanism thinking it would be simpler and easier to service than the vacumatic system. Unfortunately that was not the case, and they abandoned this experiment. The button does work, but the pen does not fill, and we have not attempted to open it up and see what needs replacing. The value of this pen is its scarcity, not as a functioning writing instrument.
Color Black
Nib It looks like a new fine gold nib
Condition Though the filling system has not been made operational, in all other respects the pen is exactly like new with no signs of wear or usage.
