Product Description
Type Aerometric filling fountain pen, working well.
Product Name Parker 51 Special. Note that the filling system doesn't say "Special," but we have seen that in the past on these demi sized pens. The black jewel, smooth cap, and steel nib confirm it is a Special, though it is a bit unusual to find one with a 14k nib.
Manufacturer and Year Parker, made in U.S.A. -- 1948 (the date code is a clear 8 with no dots).
Length 5-1/8 inches, demi size.
Filling System Aerometric squeeze filling system. We've replaced the sac and tested it, it's working well.
Color The color is teal blue. Shiny stainless steel cap with an arrow clip, chrome plated trim, and black cap jewel as is common on Specials.
Nib FINE gold nib is smooth and firm with tipping material. It's a smooth and nice looking nib. Parker 51 Specials usually had octanium nibs but they did occasionally have gold nibs.
Condition Excellent condition. Handwear and microscratches throughout. The section has some marks from capping and a discolored spot from stress around the nib. The imprint is a little worn but easily read. No personalization. It's working very well.
