Condition Excellent condition with some wear, in Parker 51 box. The fountain pen has light scratching and handwear on the cap. There are some tiny dots of plating wear on the cap. The clip has plating wear along the sides, and there is tarnish on the clip ring, especially near where the clip attaches. The cap jewel looks fantastic. There is moderate scratching on the cap band where the imprint is located. The section of the pen has the typical lengthwise scratching from capping, and about 3/4" of the front of the section is slightly faded. No chips or cracks around the nib opening. The clutch ring looks great, with much of the plating in the center present. The barrel looks great. The blind cap has a noticeable crack, whhiich doesn't affect operation, and some heavier scratches (we have included some detailed shots of these in the pictures). The ring around the blind cap jewel has brassing; the end jewel looks great. The mechanical pencil looks good. The cap jewel has shallow scratching. The clip has a bit of plating wear along the sides, and there is some brassing on the clip ring. There is a shallow ding on the cap opposite the clip about 3/8" below the top of the cap. The barrel has light to moderate scratching. The nose cone has several heavier scratches and brassing around the opening. The pencil mechanism is working very well. The set ships in a lovely Parker 51 box with a brown surface. There's a metal strip inside labeled "51 Parker 51" !
Note the crack mid-way on the blind cap.
