Product Description
Type Fountain pen with aerometric filling system
Product Name Parker 51, made in Argentina.
Manufacturer and Year Parker, Argentina and USA -- production of the Parker 51 in Argentina began in the late 1950s and continued into the 1980s after the USA stopped making them. The barrel is imprinted Parker USA with a date code of 4 with two dots, we don't think they ever made vacumatic filling Parker 51s in Argentina, so this is a combination of parts we see commonly in Kullock pens.
Length 5-1/2 inches
Filling System Piston/plunger (Vacumatic system). We have fully restored it and it's working well.
Color Velvety black and shiny barrel and section with shiny steel converging line pattern cap, and with gold clip (not a cap that was available in the USA). Pearlescent jewel on top of the cap.
Nib FINE 14k nib
Condition Excellent condition with no cracks, chips, dents, or dings. This is a velvety black, shiny pen with a smooth and shiny steel cap. The styling is classic, simple, yet lovely. The barrel has some long, thick scratches at the cap lip. Otherwise, the section and barrel look great with only light scratching elsewhere. The cap has quite a bit of microscratching with a patch of slash-y scratches to the left of the top of the clip. The clip and clip ring have some plating wear and some pitting. The pearlescent jewel is excellent. All imprints are clear.
