Product Description
Type Vintage Fountain Pen
Product Name Parker 51 (from the Vacumatic era)
Manufacturer and Year Parker, USA -- 1945 (The date code is a clear 5 with no dots).
Length 5-7/16"
Filling System Piston/plunger (vacumatic) system, which we have fully restored. It has the plastic plunger, which is correct for the model.
Color Black body and lustraloy, satin finish brushed steel (Lustraloy) cap. It has a pearlescent cap jewel and a blue diamond clip. The trim is gold plated.
Nib Extra Fine 14k nib is smooth with nice tipping. It's not a needle point extra fine, just a little finer than the nibs we usually classify as fines.
Condition Excellent + condition. The jewel looks great and there are no real scratches on the pen. There is handwear and polishing marks. The cap has a few spots of finish wear and a few marks to the left of the clip. The lighting really affects the visibility of the wear. The clip has some brassing on the sides. The barrel imprint is legible. Fully restored and working well.
