Product Description
Type Restored vintage fountain pen
Product Name Parker 51 Vacumatic
Manufacturer and Year Parker, made in USA -- 1947 (The date code is a clear 7 with two dots).
Length Full size pen, 5-1/2"
Filling System piston/plunger (Vacumatic) filling system. We've restored it with a new diaphragm and it's working well. It has the later vacumatic plastic plunger system which is the correct plunger for the Parker 51 vacumatics.
Color Black body with sterling silver cap and gold filled trim. The cap has thin vertical lines and a smooth cap band with a chevron pattern. The clip is a blue diamond clip. The cap has a pearlescent cap jewel.
Nib FINE gold nib is smooth with lots of tipping material. The slit is a bit asymmetric.
Condition Excellent + condition. The sterling cap originally had a coating over the sterling which, with a small amount of wear, starts to look dull. The coating wear is visible as consistent small marks and is most noticeable on the cap band and around the clip. We gently polished the cap after it was photographed and the coating wear is much less than it looks in the photos. There is low handwear on the barrel and some light scratching on the cap. Very little plating wear around the tassie. The section has a few marks from the cap. No dings or dents. The imprint is legible. It has been fully restored and is working very well.
