Product Description
Type Vintage vacumatic filling fountain pen, restored and working well.
Product Name Parker 51 Vacumatic.
Manufacturer and Year Parker -- 1940s (the date code and much of the imprint is worn off and mostly impossible to read).
Length 5-7/16 inches.
Filling System Piston/plunger (Vacumatic). We've fully restored the filling system with a new diaphragm and it's working perfectly.
Color Cedar blue body with a brushed steel "Lustraloy" cap, a gold filled blue diamond clip, and a pearlescent cap jewel.
Nib MEDIUM hooded 14k gold nib is smooth and firm with lovely tipping material. The nib is in excellent condition, and the true mediums are not that common.
Condition Very nice condition. No cracks, chips, or personalization. The barrel shows some discoloration, with the end of the blind cap and the tip of the section/hood appearing darker than the rest of the body (see photos). There's a small dent in the cap, partly obscured by the clip (see photos), and some minor scratching and marks on the cap as well. There's a little wear on the edges of the clip, and the blue paint for the diamond is a bit worn. A few minor scratches show on the barrel, which bears some handwear as well. The pen has been fully restored and it's working very well. It would make a great daily user pen.
