Product Description
Type Fountain pen
Product Name Parker 61 Flighter Deluxe - Mark III, the Flighter Deluxe refers to a brushed steel pen with gold plated trim. The Mark III is the cartridge/converter version. The clutch ring is the band between the section and barrel. (There is some contradictory information out there on the different versions but we are calling the capillary versions the Mark I if they have the thin clutch ring version and the Mark II if they have the thicker clutch ring.)
Manufacturer and Year Parker, England -- 1970-75, the Flighter Deluxe came out in 1970 and the cap jewel was discontinued in 1975.
Length 5-7/16"
Filling System This fountain pen does not have the capillary filling system this model is known for. This is the later version that uses Parker-style cartridges and converters. A Parker squeeze converter is installed.
Color Satin finished lustraloy or brushed steel cap and barrel with gold plated trim. The section is black. The cap has a pearlescent plastic jewel and the barrel has a convex gold plated jewel.
Nib BROAD gold nib is smooth with nice round tipping. It looks like it will write a web broad line.
Condition Excellent condition. The lustraloy finish is in great condition with only a few shiny spots on the cap. There is some brassing on the clip, most notably beneath it, and on the gold plating at the end of the barrel. The metal does have handwear and polishing marks throughout. The section has many cap marks from capping. No cracks, chips, dents, or major scratches. It's working well.
