Product Description
Type Fountain Pen
Product Name Parker 61, Mark II. We think of the US Mark II as being the capillary-fill model with the wider clutch ring, but it could be they numbered them differently in Argentina ... these have aerometric filling systems, which wasn't a version of the pen we see in the USA, where the capillary filling system was replaced by a cartridge/converter filling pen and is considered the Mark III.
Manufacturer and Year Parker, Argentina -- 1959-62
Length 5-1/2"
Filling System Aerometric filling system
Color Shiny chrome-plated cap and barrel with a pattern of grouped lines. Turquoise section. Pearlized cap and barrel jewels.
Nib MEDIUM nib, steel or octanium. Smooth and firm with excellent tipping.
Condition Excellent condition with no cracks, chips, dents, or dings. This is a lovely, shiny, monochromatic pen in a classic design. The barrel has some brassing near the clutch ring and some light scratching. The cap has scratches in the shiny parts between the grouped lines. There are also some small scuffed areas near the cap lip (you can see this clearly in the closeup shot of the "Industria Argentina" imprint). The clip has some bubbling in the plating, and tiny dot of pitting in the feathers. The clip ring is perfect. The pearlescent cap jewel has some marks on the surface. The barrel jewel looks lovely. The cap imprint (Parker 61 MK II, Industria Argentina), is clear.
