Product Description
Type Fountain Pen
Product Name Parker 61, Mark II (marked on the cap)
Manufacturer and Year Parker, Argentina -- 1959-62. We think of Mark II as being the capillary-fill model with the wider clutch ring, but it could be they numbered them differently in Argentina ... these have aerometric filling systems, which wasn't a version of the pen we see in the USA, where the capillary filling system was replaced by a cartridge/converter filling pen and is considered the Mark III.
Length 5-1/2"
Filling System Fixed aerometric (squeeze) filing system. (The earlier Parker 61s had the tricky capillary filling system, so this was probably regarded as an improvement).
Color Vista Blue barrel and section and gold cap with a pattern of grouped lines and a gold clip. Double pearlized jewels on either end of the fountain pen.
Nib Fine hooded 14k nib. These Argentinian P61s have two metal dots instead of the inset arrow on the hood.
Condition Excellent condition with no cracks or chips. The barrel and section have very light scratching. The cap has light scratching and polishing marks. There are some tiny dings in the cap lip, directly below the "Industria Argentina" imprint. The clip has microscratching and some brassing around the end of the opening and on the sides of the arrow end. The pearlized jewels look excellent. The ring around the barrel jewel has some scratches or dents in the edge. The imprints, including "Industria Argentina" are clear.
