According to several sites, the Spanish Treasure Parker 75 was the first limited edition fountain pen ever produced. In 1715, a fleet of Spanish ships were sunk during a hurricane off of the coast of Florida. The wreckage was discovered in 1965, and Ken Parker used some of the silver that was recovered to make the caps and barrels of these pens. Only 4,812 fountain pens were made. The Parker75 website has excellent information about this pen here.
