Product Description
Type Vintage fountain pen in excellent working condition
Product Name Parker Duofold Jr Deluxe, Streamline. The three cap bands makes it Deluxe.
Manufacturer and Year Parker, USA -- 1930s, the pattern was introduced in the late 1920s.
Length 4-1/2"
Filling System The fountain pen is a button filler. It has been restored with a new sac. The pencil takes "thick" or 1.1mm leads and extends and retracts via a twist mechanism. The twist mechanism works, though it sometimes doesn't retract the lead. When the cap is removed, sometimes the metal piece that holds the eraser shifts and needs to be pushed towards the cone.
Color This is a Lapis Lazuli set. Lapis Lazuli was originally called "Blue Marble" and is a dark blue, blue, and white mix. Because of the white flecks, it is distinguishable from the Blue on Blue. Since these are the Deluxe version each piece is accented with triple bands. The trim is gold filled.
Nib MEDIUM SEMIFLEXIBLE 14k Duofold nib. It has some line variation but not dramatic line variation. See the writing sample below.
Condition Excellent + condition. The fountain pen barrel is a bit darker than the pencil and the pen cap. The pen also has some tool marks on the section and a chip at the top of the cap. The trim on both pieces have held up very well with very little brassing on the bands and some wear on the clips. The pen clip has the majority of its wear on the ball end and the pencil clip has the majority of its wear at the top of the clip and on the clip ring. All imprints are easily read. The pencil cap does not close all the way onto the pencil body. Both pieces have handwear but no major scratches, cracks, or dents.
