Product Description
Type Vintage fountain pen in excellent working condition
Product Name Parker Duofold Quality "DQ" pen. This model was Parker's attempt to capitalize on the success of the Duofold with an entry-level pen.
Manufacturer and Year Parker, USA -- Circa 1924. 1924 is the only year the DQ imprint was formally found on barrels.
Length 4-9/16".
Filling System The fountain pen is a button filler. It has been restored with a new sac.
Color Solid black hard rubber pen with grouped lines pattern with nickel trim (aka reverse trim). It has a 1/4" cap band.
Nib FINE 14k nib. It is a Parker Lucky Curve #2 nib with a P imprint. There are some scratches on the surface of the nib, but that doesn't affect the way it writes.
Condition Excellent condition with no cracks. This is a short, good looking pen that has classic styling. The original velvety black color can be seen on the section. Otherwise, the color has faded to a dark chocolate brown on the cap and barrel. The barrel has marks caused by the cap lip and mainly light scratching. There are a few small, deep scratch marks above the blind cap. The cap looks great with just a couple little scratch marks to the left of the end of the clip. The cap band has light microscratching; it looks excellent. The clip has wear on the ball end and along the top as well as microscratching. The imprints are somewhat faded but they are legible especially with magnification.
