Product Description
Type Vintage button filling fountain pen in a hard to find color.
Product Name Duofold, Senior, streamlined version. Please note that the streamline Seniors are shorter than the earlier Duofold Seniors which were approx. 5-1/2" in length.
Manufacturer and Year Parker, made in USA/Canada -- circa 1929 (it has a 1929 style imprint, that was the first year of the streamlined pens. The barrel is imprinted Made in USA, and the nib was Made in Canada).
Length Just over 5-3/16" inches (the streamline senior Duofold is just a bit shorter than the earlier version.)
Filling System Button filler. We've restored it with a new sac and it's working very well.
Color Mandarin Yellow brightly colored body and cap with gold filled trim and two thin cap bands. The color is really nice, and the cap and barrel are only slightly different shades.
Nib FINE gold Parker Duofold Pen Canada nib is quite large.
Condition Excellent condition for this brightly colored vintage classic pen. The material on these is well-known for being prone to cracking, especially at the cap lip, and while this one lacks cracks there is a tiny chip out of the cap lip in one spot, and we've included a close-up of this area in the photos. We also see some crack-like lines near the cap lip, but these seem to be confined to either the inside or outside surface, and do not penetrate both sides. There is light to moderate wear and scratching on the cap and barrel. The cap finial has some fading, as does the blind cap. The clip has plating wear and tiny dots of pitting. The two gold cap bands have areas of brassing. The imprint on the barrel is faded, but readable. The imprint on the clip is clear.
Though it hardly needs to be said, we're going to say it: this cap should not be posted.
