Product Description
Type Button filling fountain pen, restored and working well.
Product Name UK Duofold Senior/Victory, made in the Valentine Pen Company, Newhaven, England factory.
Notes:
First, a brief history lesson: The Valentine Pen Company in England began making pens for other, larger pen companies in the late 1930s, and in 1941 signed an agreement with Parker to share manufacturing facilities for the duration of the war. According to page 260 in Shepherd and Zazove's "Parker Duofold" book, the Duofolds made in England were similar to the Streamline models from America and Canada, but had a unique barrel imprint, and some of the Senior models had a thin cap band - this pen has both of those. In fact, a pen that's almost identical to this one is pictured on that same page.
Now, we're not quite sure what the "P-C" imprint on the nib means, but we think that it might mean "Parker Canada" - when Parker first started working with the Valentine Pen Company, the first Parker products that they produced were assembled from Canadian parts.
Manufacturer and Year Parker, Newhaven England -- 1941-44. The "REG. T.M." indicates English production.

Condition Excellent + condition. This is a beautiful, very shiny pen in a lovely color pattern. In hand, the pen is really stunning - very shiny, and with strong color. Under magnification, we see microscratching on the cap and barrel. There is a crack about 3/8" long, that starts to the left of the clip and runs horizontally, ending underneath the clip; this is visible in the first photo. The narrow cap band has brassing. The clip has some brassing on the shoulders, the ball end, and a little bit on the sides. The barrel has some marks caused by the cap lip. The section and blind cap have light scratching. The barrel imprint is slightly worn, but is still easily readable. The clip imprint looks great. The black pieces on either end are excellent.
