Product Description
Type Vintage Aerometric filling fountain pen.
Product Name New Style Duofold.
Manufacturer and Year Parker, made in England -- 1951 (The date code on the barrel is a 1)
Length 4-15/16 inches long.
Filling System Aerometric squeeze filler like the later Parker 51s and the Parker 21s. We've tested it and it's working well, and we will guarantee it for a year from the date of purchase.
Color Blue with gold plated trim and a blue cap jewel. 1/8" wide cap band with a chevron pattern (which looks sort of like this: ////\\\\////\\\\).
Nib MEDIUM open nib is marked Parker Duofold 14k Pen N. The N means it was made in Newhaven. It writes very smoothly and has lots of tipping material. Short hairline crack at the base of the nib as it enters the section. With no nib flexibility to stress it, this is a very stable crack and should not get any worse with normal usage, however we do not recommend pulling the nib.
Condition Excellent condition. The pen has handwear and the barrel imprint is a bit worn. There is moderate scratching on the cap and barrel, with heavier scratching at the end of the barrel. The cap band looks great. The clip has some plating wear along the sides. The clip ring and tassie have a few tiny dots of plating wear. No cracks or chips, dings or dents, personalization. It's working very well.
NOTE: there is a crack in the nib that starts just below the P in PEN and runs towards the pen. You can see the line there in the closeup of the top of the nib. It's very much a hairline crack, and difficult to see even under magnification.
