Product Description
Type Vintage Aerometric filling fountain pen.
Product Name New Standard Duofold
Manufacturer and Year Parker, made in England -- Circa 1952. The date code is a clear 2 with 3 dots. We know that the New Duofold with the aerometric filing system was introduced in 1953, so perhaps this was an early model?
Length New Standard size, about 5-1/8 inches long.
Filling System Aerometric squeeze filler like the later Parker 51s and the Parker 21s. We've tested it and it's working well.
Color Green with gold plated trim and a green cap jewel. 1/8" wide cap band with a lined triangles pattern (which looks sort of like this: ////\\\\////\\\\).
Nib MEDIUM-FINE open nib is marked Parker Duofold 14k Pen N. We believe that the N indicates that the nib was made in Newhaven, England. It's in great condition, very smooth with very good tipping material. It has a soft, springy feel, but no real flex for line variation. There's a bit of a bulge on the side of the nib near the base, but this does not affect writing.
Condition Excellent condition. The pen has microscratching all over, but the cap band looks great, and there is only minor wear on the clip. The imprint is slightly worn in the middle (the line that should say REG. TM only shows REG. T), but is mostly quite clear. No cracks or chips, dings, dents, or personalization. It's working very well.
