Type Fountain pen with aerometric filing system
Product Name Duofold Maxima. The imprint reads "Maxima Duofold." This is the largest, fattest version of the aerometric Duofolds.
Manufacturer and Year Parker, England. Late 1950s. ("6" mark on the barrel, "50" imprint on the nib.)
Length 5-11/16 inches.
Filling System Aerometric squeeze filler like the later Parker 51s and the Parker 21s.
Color Beautiful deep red color with gold plated trim and a red cap jewel. Thin size cap band with a lined triangles pattern (it looks sort of like this: ////\\\\////\\\\)
Nib MEDIUM open nib has a bit of flex to it. It's in good condition, smooth with a lot of tipping material.
Condition Excellent condition with some very light scratching here and there on the barrel and cap, along with some handwear. There's a little plating wear on the clip, mostly along the feather part of the arrow's edges, and it extends up onto the gold ring around the cap jewel, which also has a tiny indent in it. Despite this wear the pen still appears splendidly clean and beautiful, and it's working very well.
