Product Description
Type Fountain pen with aerometric filing system
Product Name New Standard Duofold (the imprint is mostly worn away, but it's the proper size and style for a New Standard).
Manufacturer and Year Parker, made in England - Circa 1960s.
Length New Standard size, 5-1/16 inches long.
Filling System Aerometric squeeze filler like the later Parker 51s and the Parker 21s. We've tested it and it seems to be working perfectly. We'll guarantee it will fill properly and not leak.
Color Beautiful deep red color with gold plated trim and a red cap jewel. 1/8" wide cap band with a lined triangles pattern (it looks sort of like this: ////\\\\////\\\\)
Nib BROAD open nib is marked Parker 14k England R (people have speculated that the R indicates that the nib was an official replacement). It's in great condition, excellent tipping and it feels smooth on paper. It's somewhat firm, with just a little give to it.
Condition Excellent condition. There's just some microscratching on the cap and barrel, and a few tiny spots of plating wear in the trim, though there doesn't appear to be any real brassing. No chips or cracks, no personalization. The imprint is quite worn, we're guessing it was probably very faint to begin with since the rest of the pen shows light wear only, and you can just barely make out that it says Made In England right below the last traces of what must have said Duofold. It's working very well.
