Product Description
Type Vintage Aerometric filling fountain pen.
Product Name New Standard Duofold. We don't really know the difference between the Standard and the New Standard but since this is a later version, we are going with New Standard.
Manufacturer and Year Parker, made in England -- 1950s (We couldn't make out a date code, but the English Duofolds adopted aerometric systems in 1953 and the Duofold Standard was discontinued in 1961).
Length New Standard size, about 5-1/8 inches long.
Filling System Aerometric squeeze filler like the later Parker 51s and the Parker 21s. We've tested it and it's working well.
Color Red with gold plated trim and a red cap jewel. 1/8" wide cap band with a lined triangles pattern (which looks sort of like this: ////\\\\////\\\\).
Nib FINE open nib is marked Parker 14k 585 England 25. The 25 means that it goes with a Parker Duofold Standard. The tines are bent downward but they still write well. The nib is on the drier side, but it's smooth and doesn't skip at all.
Condition Excellent condition. The pen has a fair amount of handwear with very little plating wear. The imprint is worn but mostly legible. No cracks or chips, dings or dents, personalization. It's working very well.
