Product Description
Type Vintage Vacumatic-filling fountain pen.
Product Name Duofold Vacumatic, aka "Duovac". This is the full size "Televisor" sacless model, there was also a smaller "Sub-Deb" model with two bands.
Manufacturer and Year Parker, made in USA -- 1942 (the date code "2" with two dots on the barrel is very clear). The nib has a 7 code.
Length 5-3/16" - this makes it the full size version.
Filling System Vacumatic filler with the speedline plunger. We've restored the filling system and it's working perfectly.
Color Green and gold (alternating with dark translucent stripes) body and cap, with gold plated trim, two thin cap bands, and a black cap jewel.
Nib MEDIUM-BROAD gold Parker Pen nib is smooth with nice tipping material. Very fat nib with a lot of tipping material. There are two tool marks on the nib "shoulders" (see photo below).
Condition Excellent condition. This pen is in excellent restored condition with only light scratches. There's some brassing on the edges of the clip, as well as on the tassie ring. The gold plated trim is rather thin, typical of these Duovacs. There's microscratching on the cap and barrel. The blind cap has several tool marks. No cracks or chips, or personalization. The imprint is worn a bit, but still readable, and the barrel clarity is excellent. It's fully restored and working very well.
