Product Description
Type Vintage button filling fountain pen, restored and working well.
Product Name Parker Lucky Curve Jack Knife Safety Pen, model 20. (We find the model numbering on these pens very confusing, and it's easy to swap blind caps, so we're not 100% certain of the model number, especially since it has a #3 nib.)
Manufacturer and Year Parker, Janesville, Wis. -- circa late 1920s.
Length Just over 4-3/8 inches capped.
Filling System Button filler. We've restored it with a new sac and it's working very well.
Color Smooth black hard rubber body and cap with a nickel plated clip. It's a little discolored to a slightly more brown color, and has some minor patterns in the discoloration of the cap.
Nib FLEXIBLE FINE Parker Lucky Curve Pen 3 nib is smooth with lovely tipping material. The nib is what we would call fully flexible, with nice thin hairlines and easy flex to double broad under very little pressure. See our writing sample below.
Condition Excellent condition. No cracks or chips, dings, dents, or personalization. The pen shows a little discoloration, as mentioned above, and there are a few scratches on the cap and barrel. The plating on the clip is a bit worn, with small bits of corrosion and brassing. The imprints are mostly very readable, though the Lucky Curve flag on the barrel is a bit worn, and interestingly enough it looks like they lightly printed an imprint just next to the actual imprint, as there is a faint second flag and the bottoms of the numbers from another patent date are slightly visible below the clear imprint. The pen has been fully restored and it's working very well.
