Product Description
Type Early Parker fountain pen
Product Name Jack Knife Safety, as identified on the cap. It is also a Lucky Curve barrel imprint.
Manufacturer and Year Parker, USA -- 1910s or 1920s, the button filling system was introduced in 1913.
Length 4-5/16"
Filling System Button filler. A new sac has been installed and the filling system is working well.
Color Black chased hard rubber. No cap band or clip. There is a gold filled ring top mechanism. The ends of the pens are knurled.
Nib Fine flexible nib Lucky Curve #2 nib. We consider this full flex, though it's not a super-soft "wet noodle." The tines spread easily for very good line variation, from extra fine to broad. See the writing sample below. The nib is on the edge of extra fine and fine when unflexed. It has the "Christmas Tree" exposed part of the feed and is missing the internal part that comprised the Lucky Curve feed.
Condition Excellent condition. The chasing patterning is strongly present visually though not as much texturally. The hard rubber has lightened slightly and evenly. The cap and barrel imprints are clear with little wear. No cracks, chips, or scratches. The pen is fully restored and working well.
