Length 4-9/16-inches (not counting the ringtop hardware).
Filling System Button filler. We've fully restored the filling system and it's working very well.
Color "Red" (orange) cap and barrel with black ends and section. The cap has a 1/2" wide gold filled band.
Nib Fine flexible Parker Pen nib. It writes smoothly and has a good amount of flex. See writing sample below. Not all that common to find a flexible nib on this model.
Condition Excellent condition. The permanite looks great with a very clear imprint. The knurling on the blind cap and cap is strong. The cap band looks a little scuffed, and there is some plating wear on the edges; it is also personalized with "J. Hop". There are no significant scratches, or dents or cracks.
Notes on dating this pen: In our research, we came across conflicting information about the parts. The wide gold band on the cap dates from the 1920s, but the barrel imprint design dates from the 1930s. Additionally, there is clearly a date code of "9.", indicating 1939. Perhaps a previous owner needed a repair, and when it was returned from Parker the barrel had been replaced with a newer version barrel, or maybe the owner swapped out parts themself. Whatever happened, the color of the parts matches very nicely, and the cap screws on very smoothly with no indication that it's not original to this barrel. Evidently, this pen has experienced some adventures in its ~80-95 year lifetime!
