Unless you flip the nib over and write on the top side, this will not affect your writing experience. We smoothed the top of the nib so that it would be less rough to the touch, |

The body and cap are both in excellent condition, very light hand wear. No cracks or chips or anything other than very light scratches. There is no brassing on the cap band, but there are a few very small marks. |
