Product Description
Type Vintage button filling fountain pen, a collectible model that's not easy to find.
Product Name "True Blue" the advertised name of this model was the "Three Fifty" to coincide with the price but modern collectors refer to this pen as the True Blue. It is a cheaper version of the Duofold Lucky Curve. Full size. We know it's not the streamline version based off of the Lucky Curve imprints and the length. The Streamline version is shorter.
Manufacturer and Year Parker, made in USA -- 1928-29, this is a short lived model.
Length 5-1/4".
Filling System Button filler. We've restored it with a new sac and it's working very well.
Color Called "Modernistic Blue and White" in advertisements, the True Blue is a blue and white permanite with swirls and stripes. The patterns were inconsistent. This one has about half the cap and half the barrel with the ripple like swirls and the rest with its crisscrossing lines. It has gold filled trim and two narrow cap bands. This is a slender pen.
Nib FINE SEMI-FLEXIBLE Parker Pen Lucky Curve #2 nib is smooth with nice tipping. The tines spread with a little bit of initial resistance but far enough for some line variation. It has a C on the nib which indicates that the nib was made in Canada. There's a very short crack in the nib running down from the breather hole, but it will not affect the writing and will not lengthen unless the pen is over-flexed.
Condition Excellent condition. The pen has the common discoloration this color suffers from, but it's minimal on the cap. The blind cap and cap derby are discolored. There is some trim wear, the most significant on the clip. No cracks, chips, dents, or major scratches. The barrel and nib imprints are easily read. The pen is fully restored and working well.
