Product Name Sonnet - Mark 1. Two sets of trim were used for the Mark 1, the first was on the designs introduced in 1994 and the other was used on the designs introduced in 1996. All of the trim was standardized for the Mark 2 in 2003.
Manufacturer and Year Parker, France -- 1999 (The date code is a clear N, and this design was introduced in 1996 so it must be from 1999).
Length 5-1/4"
Filling System Fills via Parker style cartridges or with a converter. A Parker piston converter is installed.
Color Black lacquer called "Premier Solid Black Laque" as part of the water ripple Premier Laque sub-design. The trim is 23k gold plated and it has a 5/16" cap band.
Nib FINE 18k nib is very smooth with lovely tipping. It is a firm nib with only very slight give. It is a single tone nib with a feed labeled F.
Condition Excellent condition. The lacquer is completely intact with no missing flakes of finish. The barrel has some handwear but most of the wear is on the cap. The notch in the black lacquer that was cut for the clip is too wide, leaving an unfinished section to the upper right of the clip. The cap band also has lots of microscratching that is like very shallow scuff marks on the slightly protruding part of the band. It has some polishing marks on the trim. There's no scratches, dents, or chips.
