Product Description
Type Vintage button filling fountain pen.
Product Name This pen is thought to be from one of the so-called "Thrift Time" series.
Manufacturer and Year Parker, made in USA - 1930s. The nib is dated 1938.
Length 4-13/16".
Filling System Button filler. We've restored it with a new sac and it's working very well.
Color "Cream and Bronze," a cream colored base with large chunks of bronze embedded and gold plated trim. The barrel has discolored so that the cream base is more of a caramel color, and a couple of spots on the bronze have turned a tan-brown hue.
Nib SEMI-FLEX gold nib is between a fine and an extra fine, and is marked Parker Pen Made In USA .8. R, indicating that it was a nib made in 1938. It's smooth with great tipping material. Semi-flexible with line variation from extra fine to medium with little pressure. See writing sample below.
Condition Very nice condition. As mentioned above, the barrel has discolored and there are also some lesser scratches on the cap, barrel, and blind cap. The cap band shows brassing on its lower edge and there's some brassing on the sides and ball of the clip. No cracks or chips, dings or dents, and no personalization. The imprints are clear and readable. Fully restored and working well.
