Product Description
Type Depression era button filling fountain pen, restored and working well.
Product Name This is from the Thrift Time pen series.
Manufacturer and Year Parker, made in U.S.A. -- 1935 (the date code is a clear 45, indicating manufacture in the last quarter of '35).
Length 4-13/16 inches.
Filling System Button filler. We've restored it with a new sac and it's working very well.
Color Green marble with gold plated trim, three thin cap bands.
Nib FLEXIBLE FINE gold Parker Pen nib is smooth with lovely tipping material. It's what we would call flexible, with easy line variation from a larger fine to a double broad under very light pressure. There's a short crack running down from the breather hole, but the nib is stable and the crack won't get worse unless you really push the flex beyond its reasonable ability.
Condition User grade condition. No dings, dents, or personalization. There are some cracks in the cap lip, and one crack around the cap closer to its crown (visible in the first and second-to-last photos below). The clip shows some plating wear, though the cap bands are virtually free of wear. There are a few small scratches here and there on the pen, but the barrel looks quite clean and nice. The imprint is just lightly worn, very readable. We've fully restored the pen and it's working quite well.
